cPanel & WHM’s Webmail feature enables users to access their email accounts via their web browsers. Checking emails though a browser allows for a much more convenient and ease-of-access compared to using an email application. One of the best features of Webmail is that you can use it to check mails even when you do not have your own computer with you. You can simply log in to your account using any Internet-connected device.

You can access Webmail through two different methods, including the following:

Step 1: Access from the cPanel interface.

When you have your cPanel account open, you can access your Webmail by navigating to Home, then Mail, then WebMail. Here are the steps to follow once you are on the WebMail interface on your cPanel account:

• Click on the “Go to Secure Webmail Login” button.
• Choose the “Read Mail Using” option for webmail application you want to use for accessing your email. For further convenience, select the “Enable AutoLoad” option for your preferred webmail app so that it will automatically load on your next login.
• Once you have chosen the WebMail app you want, its interface will appear. The client for that particular webmail app will then retrieve all your read and unread messages and then display them.

Step 2: Direct access.

You can also access your WebMail through the use of a web browser.

• Open a browser and type in your domain name and add either /webmail or :2096 at the very end. For example: https://mydomain.com/webmail or https://mydomain.com:2096.
• Put in your login credentials and click on the “Login” button.
• Select the “Read Mail Using” option for the webmail app you want to use to gain access to your email.
• Choose the “Enable AutoLoad” option for the webmail app you prefer so that it will load your account automatically the next time you access it.
• Your chosen webmail app’s interface will appear and retrieve all both the read and unread emails.

Choosing the default Webmail application.

The first time you access your WebMail account, it will give you three applications: SquirrelMail, Horde, and RoundCube. Choose whichever you prefer. Also, keep in mind the following:

• Clicking “Set as Default” will make WebMail automatically open your account tin the application you chose the first time you logged in.
• When you want to change the WebMail application, locate the Menu option found on the top area of the interface and then select the star icon associated with the application you wish to change to as the default app.

Changing the language setting of your WebMail interface.

Because cPanel and WHM is available to many different countries all over the world, you may want to view your account in a language aside from English. WebMail allows you to do so. Configuring a new locale or language setting will apply a cookie to your browser with a lifespan of one year. Keep in mind though, that you would have to do this again after a year, after deleting cookies from your browser, or when you access WebMail using a different browser.
